Precious to Cultured Pearls:
Under the leadership of Glenda Mayo (Immediate Past President of ICE), on December 22, 2007, ICE held the Precious to Cultured Pearls Presentation Ball, of which the proceeds benefited community programs and services. The mission of Precious to Cultured Pearls was to prepare 11 presentees, ages 15-17, for success and full participation as leaders in the 21st century. The nine month program offered an extensive curriculum which included sessions on preparing for the future, relationships, decision making, community service and the importance of developing healthy lifestyle habits. These future leaders were presented with opportunities to experience changes, confront challenges, and make choices for the good of the Pittsburgh community.
In 2009, ICE will sponsor the 2nd Annual Precious to Cultured Pearls Presentation Ball. Additional details are forthcoming.
