Annual Card Party and Luncheon

Event Chair: Sorors Lee Nicklos and Madelyn Hairston-Giddens

On Saturday, October 4, 2008 The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the Ivy Charitable Endowment held their annual Card Party and Luncheon at the Churchill Valley Country Club. This event was chaired by Lee Nicklos and Madelyn Hairston-Giddens which once again turned out to be a huge success. The Churchill Valley Country Club was filled to capacity with beautiful African American women and men of all ages. Remarks was provided by the President (Lisa Isaac) and First Vice President (Donna Pollard) of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc-Alpha Alpha Omega Chapter. Donna Pollard informed everyone of the upcoming service projects and programs that the local Pittsburgh chapter sponsored. The crowd received an appropriate message from Toni Kendrick Second Vice President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc-Alpha Alpha Omega Chapter regarding the importance of voting in this special election on November 4, 2008. Toni Kendrick charged each individual at the luncheon with the task of taking at least 5 people to register to vote. After lunch was served the games began. Bingo by far was the most successful game this year. This year’s proceeds from the annual card party and luncheon will benefit community programs.
