"ESP 1908 GLOBAL CENTENNIAL WALK"
for Emotional, Spiritual & Physical Health
June 28, 2008
Program Committee Chair: Soror Donna Pollard
"ESP 1908 Global Centennial Walk" occurred simultaneously around the World on Saturday, June 28, 2008, wherever there was a chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Every AKA Chapter was encouraged to collaborate with Sorors, families, friends, supporters, and partners. Over 50 Sorors from Alpha Alpha Omega and their spouses met at Highland Park at 11 am and walked approximately 1,908 steps or two miles together. Sorors wore chest placecards with Alpha Alpha Omega, the ESP symbol, and the words: "ESP 1908 GLOBAL CENTENNIAL WALK" For Emotional, Spiritual & Physical Health". Theoretically we walked towards the direction of Washington, D.C. where the culmination of the ESP 1908 Centennial Walk initiative will conclude with a symbolic walk on Sunday, July 13, 2008 from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 am as part of our Centennial Celebration.
