“Alpha Alpha Omega-Reflecting on 100 Years of Sisterhood ”
PITTSBURGH, PA – Alpha Alpha Omega Chapter reflected on 100 Years of Sisterhood during it’s Founders’ Day Centennial Luncheon Celebration on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Churchill Valley Country Club with over 250 Sorors that were elegantly dressed in winter white. With a celebration of this magnitude one mistress of ceremonies just would not do, so Sorors Rhonda Taliaferro and Christina Wilds hosted the afternoon. Alpha Alpha Omega Basileus, Soror Lisa Issac, welcomed the Sorors who came to share in this joyous occasion including Sorors from the Beta Theta Omega Chapter in Ohio.  Undergraduate chapter Basilei, Tydeea Threadgill (Iota), Kendra Green (Mu Omicron), Zennobia Bell (Alpha Sigma) and Meghan Rheff (Rho Rho) all gave greetings and updates on their zealous Programs.  Soror Stacy Lloyd graced everyone with her beautiful voice as she sang two moving gospel songs.  After a delightful lunch, Sorors Barbara Douglas, Toni Kendrick, LaDora Jamison, and Madelyn Giddens reflected on their sentimental memories of becoming an AKA. Soror Corina Campbell of Alpha Sigma Chapter was presented the Undergraduate Achievement Award and special recognition was given to Soror France for serving 31 years as the graduate advisor for the Mu Omicron Chapter at Slippery Rock University. The luncheon concluded with remarks from Founder’s Day Chairperson, Soror Daria Crawley as she thanked everyone for attending and bringing in toiletry items to make 100 gift bags for two women shelters. A Happy Hour Celebration, planned by the social committee was held immediately following the luncheon and the Founders’ Day Workshop Service was held the next day at Calvary AME Church, the home church of the Basileus.
